Zobu Muhiddin (2 June 1867-18 August 1921) was a naval attache of the Ottoman Empire to France.
Biography[]
Zobu Muhiddin was born on 2 June 1867 in Alanya, Turkey, Ottoman Empire to a Sunni Muslim family of Turks. He joined the Ottoman Navy and became an attache to France, whose navy was one of the most formidable in Europe before World War I. Muhiddin was recalled during the war due to the state of war between the Ottoman Empire and France, and he inspected some Ottoman Navy vessels in the Aegean Sea to ensure the navy's preparation for war. After the war, Muhiddin moved to France and settled in Cannes, a coastal city in the south along the Mediterranean Sea, which reminded him of home. The Armenian Revolutionary Federation sought to assassinate any Ottoman officials or officers in exile, getting revenge for the Armenian Genocide. On 18 August 1921, Muhiddin was smothered to death with a pillow in his apartment.
