
Zhang Han (died 205 BC) was King of Yong from 207 to 205 BC during the Eighteen Kingdoms era.
Biography[]
Zhang Han served as a general under Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi, and he was commended for his excellent archery skills. In 209 BC, during the reign of Qin Er Shi, Zhang Han successfully put down several rebellions against Qin rule, but, in 207 BC, he was defeated by the Chu leader Xiang Yu at the Battle of Julu. After realizing that Zhao Gao had effectively usurped Qin, Zhang Han and his 200,000 troops surrendered to Xiang Yu, who made him "King of Yong", one of the Eighteen Kingdoms. In 205 BC, Liu Bang's Han army invaded Yong, forcing Zhang Han to retreat to Feiqiu. In 205 BC, the Han launched a flood attack on Feiqiu, forcing Zhang Han to commit suicide.
