Zeus, known to the Romans as Jupiter, was the Hellenic sky and thunder god and the king of the gods of Mount Olympus. He was the son of Kronos and Rhea, the youngest of his siblings to be born; he married his sister Hera and fathered Ares, Hebe, and Hephaestus; he later fathered Aphrodite with Dione. Zeus later became known for his erotic escapades, fathering Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Persephone, Dionysus, Perseus, Heracles, Helen, Minos, and the Muses.
