Zenon Noriega Aguero

Zenon Noriega Aguero (12 July 1900-7 May 1957) was President of Peru from 29 October 1948 to 1 November 1948 and from 1 June to 28 July 1950, interrupting Manuel A. Odria's terms each time.

Biography[]

Zenon Noriega Aguero was born in Cajamarca, Peru in 1900. He served in the Peruvian Army before backing Manuel A. Odria's seizure of power in 1948. he headed juntas in 1948 and 1950 on Odria's commands, and he was promoted to major-general in 1953. However, he was exiled in 1954 after Odria suspected him of conspiring against him, and he returned to Peru two years later and died in 1957.
