
Zeljko Komsic (born 20 January 1964) was President of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 6 July 2007 to 6 July 2008 (succeeding Nebojsa Radmanovic and preceding Haris Silajdzic), from 6 July 2009 to 6 March 2010 (succeeding Radmanovic and preceding Silajdzic), from 10 July 2011 to 10 March 2012 (succeeding Radmanovic and preceding Bakir Izetbegovic), from 10 July 2013 to 10 March 2014 (succeeding Radmanovic and preceding Izetbegovic), from 20 July 2019 to 20 March 2020 (succeeding Milorad Dodik and preceding Sefik Dzaferovic), and from 20 July 2021 (succeeding Dodik). He was a member of the SDP BiH and the Democratic Front of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Biography[]
Zeljko Komsic was born in Sarajevo, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia in 1964, the son of a Croat father and a Serb mother. He served in the ARBiH during the Bosnian War, during which his mother was killed by a sniper as she sipped coffee in her apartment. After the war, Komsic entered politics with the SDP BiH party, and he became a Novo Sarajevo councilman. Komsic served as President of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2007 to 2008, from 2009 to 2010, from 2011 to 2012, and from 2013 to 2014, and he switched his affiliation to the Democratic Front of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2013.
