Zeeland is the westernmost province of the Netherlands, located along the North Sea. The province consists of a number of islands and peninsulas, with 440 of the provinces' 1,130 square miles of territory being water. Zeeland's capital is Middelburg, and the region had a population of 380,621 people in 2014. The country of New Zealand was named for the region, and it is currently a popular vacation spot for tourists from countries such as Germany.
