Zapatero Gonzalez

Zapatero "El Polito" Gonzalez (4 August 1983-July 2019) was a Mexican doctor-turned-torturer for the Santa Blanca Cartel. He and his wife Gloria Fernandez were killed in an American raid in Bolivia in 2019.

Biography[]

Zapatero Gonzalez was born in Mexico in 1981, and he fell in love with the nurse Gloria Fernandez while doing his residency at the same state-run hospital in Chiapas in 2006. After they saved the life of a shot-up member of the Santa Blanca Cartel, they received gifts and party invitations from the cartel before eventually providing personal services to cartel buchones. The two, equipped with a deep knowledge of human anatomy, knew how to torture subjects without killing them, and cartel boss Rodrigo Carlos Pérez Morales brought them to Bolivia in 2008 to help with his takeover of Itacua.

"La Yuri" and "El Polito" were responsible for the torture of DEA agent Ricky Sandoval over the course of 47 hours, and his eventual execution led to the dispatch of America's elite Ghost Recon team to dismantle and destroy the cartel. La Yuri and El Polito, who were also responsible for the torture of Kataris 26 leader Amaru, were the first targets on the American team's lists, and the Americans lured them back to their Itacua hunting lodge by stealing El Polito's sports car and forcing Major Arnaldo Fuentes of La Unidad to arrange a fictitious prisoner exchange with them.

As La Yuri and El Polito tortured a captured guerrilla in the basement of their hunting lodge, they were ambushed by American special forces and killed in the ensuing shootout.
