Zakharias II of Makuria (810-859) was the king of Makuria from 850 to 859, succeeding Iohannes of Makuria and preceding Georgios I of Makuria.
Biography[]
Zakharias was born in 810 to the Nubian Miaphysite Christian House of Azim, and he was the son of Iohannes of Makuria. Upon his father's death in 850, Zakharias inherited his realm in Nubia and became the new king of Makuria. Zakharias reigned for only nine years before dying at the age of 49, and his son Georgios I of Makuria succeeded him.
