
Zacarias de Gois e Vasconcelos (5 November 1815-29 December 1877) was Prime Minister of Brazil from 24 May to 30 May 1862 (succeeding Luis Alves de Lima e Silva and preceding Pedro de Araujo Lima), from 15 January to 31 August 1864 (succeeding Araujo and preceding Francisco Jose Furtado), and from 3 August 1866 to 3 July 1868 (succeeding Pedro de Araujo Lima and preceding Joaquim Rodrigues Torres).
Biography[]
Zacarias de Gois e Vasconcelos was born in Valenca, Bahia, Brazil in 1815, and he entered politics with the Liberal Party of Brazil before leaving to form the Progressive League of Brazil. A counselor to King Pedro II of Brazil, Gois also served as Prime Minister in 1862, 1864, and from 1866 to 1868; his party dissolved that same year. He died in 1877.
