
Yuriy Boyko (born 9 October 1958) was a Ukrainian pro-Russian politician. He was close associates with the oligarch Dmytro Firtash before serving as Energy Minister under President Viktor Yanukovych, as Chairman of Naftohaz Ukrayiny from 2002 to 2005, and in several other governmental positions. He served as chairman of the Republican Party of Ukraine in 2005, and he went on to join the Party of Regions in 2007, and, in 2016, he physically attacked Oleh Lyashko after being called a "Kremlin agent" for his pro-Russian views. He went on to become the leader of Opposition Platform - For Life, and he unsuccessfully ran for President in 2019. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the OPZZh was banned for its pro-Russian stances, and Boyko reversed a number of his pro-Russian stances following the ban on his party and formed the pro-European and social democratic Platform for Life and Peace as the OPZZh's successor.
