Yukitaka Takeya

Yukitake Takeya (Japanese: 竹谷幸隆) (1142-1176) was a samurai loyal to the Shiba clan during the Heian period of Japanese history.

Biography[]

Yukitake Takeya was born in 1142 in Owari Province to a family of retainers of the Shiba clan, and he became the commander of a force of naginata levies raised by Shiba Terasu to fight against the Kiso Minamoto invasion. As an officer of the Shiba, he was slain at the battle of Minokamo against the Minamoto forces, a battle that led to the fall of the Shiba.
