Yuki Yamazaki (1985 - 16 December 2019) was a Japanese Yakuza member, trial lawyer, and Providence Herald. She and Erich Soders were assassinated by Agent 47 at the GAMA Hospital in Hokkaido; Yamazaki being locked inside a high-temperature sauna, being cooked from the inside out.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Yuki Yamazaki was born in 1985 in Osaka, her father being a regional Yamaguchi-gumi Yakuza boss. Yamazaki's older brother and boyfriend were both killed during the power vacuum caused by Masahiro Hayamoto's assassination by Agent 47. She was sent to the United States by her parents out of fear for her life, where she studied law at UCLA in Los Angeles.
Yakuza[]
She eventually returned to Japan to receive her master's, working as a legal advisor at a Yakuza-owned real estate company in Tokyo. Yamazaki developed several habits in this time, including yoga, smoking, high temperature sauna baths, and fugu rolls. When her cousin was arrested for gunrunning, she served as his lawyer and pulled herself back into the underworld she thought she escaped.
Yamazaki earned her fame, however, while serving as the lawyer for five top Yakuza bosses. She masterfully picked apart witness testimonies, bribed police officers into misremembering key events, and outright blackmail against certain individuals. Her stern attitude and lack of humility in court earned her the public's eye, never wincing or wavering against the overwhelming evidence. Three key witnesses failed to show up at one of the last trials, in which the prosecution finally relented.
The bosses walked out of the courtroom as free men, and handsomely rewarded Yamazaki with wealth and power. She used this power to open her own office, becoming the top lawyer for the Yakuza and Tokyo's underground.
Providence[]
In 2017, she was approached by Arthur Edwards, the Constant, to join Providence, a cabal that subtly controlled the affairs of the world and acted as its shadow government. Yamazaki accepted, and became a Herald for the organization. She ferried information from member to member, answering only to the Constant. Yamazaki made fewer appearances in court due to her work for Providence, puzzling some of the Yakuza's top men. She formed a romantic relationship with fellow Herald Cha Hajun. Yamazaki was also a member of the same team as William Candler and Mikhail Kadir, working closely together on many assignments.
Death[]
In December 2019, Yamazaki was ordered to watch over ICA traitor Erich Soders and extract active ICA agent and client lists from him after his heart surgery. The surgery was to take place at the GAMA Private Hospital in the mountains of Hokkaido. While on the way to her assignment, she learned of the death of Ha-joon, deeply angering her. After arriving, she organized a private yoga session with instructor Jason Brooke.
On the 16th of December, Agent 47 infiltrated the building as Tobias Rieper, slowly making his way through the building and into the sauna control room, where he put the temperature up to scalding temperatures. He waited until Yamazaki entered before physically blocking the door as she attempted to exit the sauna. She collapsed from exhaustion, eventually being cooked from the inside out.
Her death was covered up by Providence and GAMA officials as a malfunction with the sauna controls, her body being sent back to Tokyo for a traditional Japanese funeral. Edwards was impressed with how 47 eliminated both Soders and Yamazaki so efficiently, hiring him to eliminate the leaders of Lucas Grey's Private Militia.
