Yu Morinaga

Yu Morinaga (died December 2012) was a Japanese yakuza who, together with his oath brother Masato Aizawa, infiltrated the Tojo-kai in 2012 on behalf of Omi Alliance chairman Tsubasa Kurosawa.

Biography[]

Yu Morinaga was born in Osaka, Japan, and he became a member of the Omi Alliance yakuza clan. Devoutly loyal to Tsubasa Kurosawa, he swore an oath of brotherhood with Kurosawa's illegitimate son Masato Aizawa, whom Kurosawa intended to make head of both the Omi and the Tojo-kai. To do this, Kurosawa had Aizawa and Morinaga infiltrate the Tojo with Minoru Aoyama's help, and they rose to be Daigo Dojima's bodyguards. In December 2012, the two of them attempted to assassinate Dojima in Fukuoka, but, after Dojima eluded them, Morinaga counseled Aizawa to abandon the plan, warning that he would never reach the strength of Kiryu. However, Aizawa pressed forth, and the two men searched for Kiryu, and, after a rough start that resulted in a fight, eventually persuaded him to help them in their search for the disappeared Daigo, blaming Aoyama for his supposed kidnapping after learning that Aoyama had went against their plan by trying to seize the Tojo for himself. The trio headed to the Yamagasa-gumi headquarters to confront Aoyama, only for Morinaga to shoot several blanks at Aoyama and be shot by Aoyama himself. Aizawa evacuated Morinaga as Kiryu finished the raid himself. Morinaga later arrived at Hakata Pier in time to murder Aoyama before he could betray the Omi's plans to Kiryu, and he also claimed to have killed Aizawa. Morinaga them encouraged Kiryu to come to Kabukicho, saying that he would find his answers there. Morinaga and Aizawa then made their way to Kabukicho, where Aizawa had Morinaga murdered at Shibaura Wharf to cover his tracks. He then framed Naoki Katsuya for the murder, planting his fingerprints at the scene of the crime.
