Youssef Zaghba (1995-3 June 2017) was an Italian citizen of Moroccan descent who was one of the perpetrators of the June 2017 London attack, alongside Khuram Shazad Butt and Rachid Redouane.

Biography[]

Youssef Zaghba was born in Fez, Morocco in 1995, and he later became a citizen of Italy. In March 2016, he was stopped by police at Bologna Airport as he attempted to fly to Turkey, where he would cross the border from Turkey into Syria and join forces with the Islamic State. The police found IS-related materials on his cell phone, so he was prevented from flying to Istanbul. However, he succeeded in flying to the United Kingdom in 2017, and he was one of the three perpetrators of the June 2017 London attack, taking part in a vehicular rampage before stabbing people at the Borough Market, where he was gunned down by police.
