Biography[]

Tendo in 2019
Yosuke Tendo was born in Osaka, Japan, and he became a highly successful heavyweight boxer, winning several championships and acquiring a sizeable fortune. After accepting an offer to fix a match and finding that the fixers failed to pay, Tendo beat them to death, resulting in his forced exit from the boxing world. He joined the yakuza and became an officer of the Omi Alliance, which valued his terrifying strength and gave him command of the Ryudo-kai.
In 2019, Tokyo governor and Omi puppet master Ryo Aoki sent Tendo and fellow Omi officer Reiji Ishioda to help Yokohama Liumang strategist Akira Mabuchi seize control of Yokohama for the Omi. After witnessing Ichiban Kasuga defeat Mabuchi at the Qing Jin restaurant, Tendo chose to leave without resistance, feeling that killing the weaker Kasuga would dishonor his organization; Ishioda tried his luck, only to be defeated. Tendo next met Kasuga at a ceremony celebrating Chairman Masaru Watase's return from prison, and, after Watase announced the joint dissolution of the Omi and the Tojo-kai, the opportunistic Tendo chose to lend his strength to Watase and his captain Masumi Arakawa's side, winking at Kasuga and pretending to be his ally. The Omi rebels in Kansai were defeated in a massive brawl at the ceremony, and the "Great Dissolution" left only the Omi Alliance's Tokyo families still in existence.
The scheming Tendo took advantage of the power vacuum to lure Arakawa into a trap, meeting him at the Yokohama docks and supposedly saving him from Ishioda's assassination attempt before shooting Arakawa himself. Tendo used this murder to regain favor with the newly-formed Tokyo Omi Alliance, led by Arakawa's captain Jo Sawashiro. After Sawashiro's arrest and Ishioda's rise to the helm of the Tokyo Omi, Tendo had Ishioda assassinated in a bombing, and he came to lead the Tokyo Omi as Aoki's puppet.

A defeated Tendo
Informed of Tendo's murder of Arakawa by Ishioda just moments before the explosion, Kasuga headed to Kabukicho to confront Tendo and Aoki. He lured them to the Millennium Tower by claiming that an incriminating video of Aoki was located in one of the top floors, and Aoki sent Tendo and his crew to the tower to search for the video as he attended the LDP's election victory event. Kasuga confronted Tendo on the top floor and, after an intense brawl, narrowly defeated the formidable boxer. Tendo then had the assassin Mirror Face, who narrowly avoided the explosion that killed Ishioda, impersonate Tendo and discuss Aoki's attempted murder of Kasuga and his friends as a hidden Yeonsu Kim and Saeko Mukoda recorded the confession. The leak of the video to the internet resulted in Tendo's imprisonment and Aoki's murder by his Bleach Japan subordinate Sota Kume.
