Ymbolet Vaugeois (1589-) was a French Navy captain who served in the Caribbean during the mid-17th century. In May 1640, while commanding the escort sloop Regeneree, Vaugeois was attacked by the English pirate Ossian Trewhella off Nevis, and he soon found his ship boarded by the privateers. However, Vaugeois used his superior swordsmanship to defeat Trewhella and capture the pirate sloop Revenge, while Trewhella was forced to flee aboard his secondary ship, Magdalena.
