Yazid III (701-4 October 744) was Caliph from 15 April to 4 October 744, succeeding al-Walid II and preceding Ibrahim ibn al-Walid.
Biography[]
Yazid was the son of Caliph al-Walid I, and he rebelled against his cousin al-Walid II, but the city of Homs and Governor Marwan of Armenia and Azerbaijan (the future Marwan II) refused to pledge allegiance to him. He died of a brain tumor at the age of 43 in 744, preceding his brother Ibrahim ibn al-Walid.
