Yasir ibn Amir (died 615) was a sahabi of Muhammad and the father of Ammar ibn Yasir.
Biography[]
Yasir ibn Amir was born to the Madhhij tribe of Yemen, and he entered the care of Abu Hudhaifah ibn al-Mughirah, who gave his slave Sumayyah bint Khayyat to Yasir as his wife. In 570, she bore him a son, Ammar ibn Yasir. They all became early Muslims in 610, following Muhammad's beliefs in monotheism, but Abu Jahl killed Sumayyah and later had Yasir kiled during the persecution of Islam.
