Yaqoob el-Muhammad (1154-) was an Islamic scholar who lived in Jerusalem at the time of the Third Crusade. In 1191, he was assaulted by Ayyubid guards led by Haitham al-Mahfouz, but Altair Ibn-La'Ahad rescued him by slaying the guards. In gratitude, el-Muhammad had his fellow scholars provide cover for Altair by allowing for him to walk with them while donning his hood, blending in with them in order to escape any future guard problems.
