Yakamochi Higa (22 June 1903 – 14 May 1945) was a major of the Imperial Japanese Army.
Biography[]
Yakamochi Higa was a major of the Imperial Japanese Army stationed on the island of Okinawa during World War II, and in 1945 he defended Wana Ridge from the United States US Marine Corps during the Battle of Okinawa. He was killed in intense indoors combat for the giant Japanese bunker that crowned Wana Ridge by the marines.
