Yahata-gumi

The Yahata-gumi was a yakuza family and a subsidiary of the Fukuoka-based Yamagasa-gumi. The family was founded by Kenji Yahata, and its members were easily identified by the citizens of Nakasu because of their bright red tracksuits. In 2012, the Yahata-gumi was opposed to the Yamagasa-gumi's alliance to the Tojo-kai, and, after the disappearance of Tojo chairman Daigo Dojima, ex-Tojo yakuza Kazuma Kiryu persuaded the Yahata-gumi to fight against Daigo's usurper Minoru Aoyama and drive the Tojo out of Fukuoka. The Yahata-gumi later reciprocated by helping Kiryu and his friends in their fight against the Kuroha-gumi's invasion of Kabukicho, Tokyo.
