Ximenez Lecerda (died 21 September 2002) was a Mexican drug trafficker and truck driver for Hector Salamanca and the Vuente Cartel. He was killed on Salamanca's orders in 2002 after having been robbed and tied up by Mike Ehrmantraut.
Biography[]
Lecerda was born in Mexico. He wound up working as a truck driver for Hector Salamanca's front ice cream company, and he accompanied Salamanca to Cartel boss Eladio Vuente's hacienda in Ciudad Juarez in 1999 in order to receive his blessing to transport cocaine through the border by use of Lecerda's trucks. For years, Lecerda crossed over into Albuquerque, New Mexico without being bothered by customs officials, who never suspected him of any wrongdoing; after passing the main inspection, he would drive up to a specific point in the desert where he would stop to grab a gun buried underneath a rock in case there were any attempts of a hijacking. This process went smoothly until 2002, when independent criminal Mike Ehrmantraut decided to take revenge on Salamanca for having previously threatened his family, so he decided to target his trucks after surveilling his operation for days. As Lecerda drove throughout the desert after passing through customs, Ehrmantraut slashed his truck tires by use of a homemade garden hose with spikes, causing Lecerda to veer head-first into a ditch. Though armed, he was quickly apprehended by Ehrmantraut who tied him up and blindfolded him, leaving him in the middle of nowhere and stealing a hidden $250,000 from the truck's tires. Eventually, a passerby noticed Lecerda and unbound him, upon which Lecerda immediately called Salamanca and his crew who shot the innocent man and buried him there. However, since he had let himself be robbed and had cost the Salamancas's operation several thousand dollars, Lecerda was considered a liability and taken to be killed.
Death[]
On 21 September 2002, Lecerda was picked up by Salamanca's lieutenants Nacho Varga and Arturo Colon and taken to a desert shack with Salamanca and his nephews Marco and Leonel, where he was interrogated about the robbery and his knowledge of his assailant, whom Lecerda didn't recognize since Ehrmantraut wore a ski mask. Realizing he had no relevant information to provide, Marco and Leonel dragged him outside and shot him in the head next to an empty grave, which Colon buried him in.
