Workers' Vanguard, known as Avanguardia Operaia in Italian, was a Trotskyist communist organization in Italy that was active from May 1968 to 13 April 1978. The group was founded in Milan with a Leninist platform, and it consisted of factory syndicalists, students from several universities, leftist club members in Veneto, intellectuals in Turin, and some central and southern Italians. In 1975, the group was responsible for the murder of MSI member Sergio Ramelli, and it joined Proletarian Democracy in 1978.
