William McComas

William McComas (1795-3 June 1865) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-VA 19) from 4 March 1833 to 3 March 1837, succeeding William McCoy and preceding Andrew Beirne. Born in Pearisburg, he became a Methodist minister and lawyer. He practiced law in Cabell County, West Virginia before serving in the state senate from 1830 to 1833, in Congress, and as an anti-secession delegate to the state secession convention in 1861. He served as a district court judge in Union-loyal West Virginia until his death.
