William Manning Lowe (12 June 1842-12 October 1882) was a member of the US House of Representatives (G-AL 8) from 4 March 1879 to 3 March 1881 (succeeding William Willis Garth and preceding Joseph Wheeler) and from 3 June to 13 October 1882 (interrupting Wheeler's terms).

Biography[]

William Manning Lowe was born in Huntsville, Alabama in 1842, and he rose to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. After the war, he became a lawyer in Huntsville, and he served as a solicitor from 1865 to 1867, in the state house from 1870 to 1878, and in the US House of Representatives from 1879 to 1881 and in 1882. He died in office in 1882.
