
William Jackson (2 September 1783-27 February 1855) was a member of the US House of Representatives (AM-MA 9) from 4 March 1833 to 3 March 1837, succeeding George N. Briggs and preceding William Soden Hastings. Born in Newton, he became the owner of a soap and candle factory in Boston, a General Court member, a selectman, a temperance activist, and a congressman. He later cofounded the Liberty Party and joined the Free Soil Party.
