
William Henry Thompson (14 December 1853-6 June 1937) was a Democratic US Senator from Nebraska from 24 May 1933 to 6 November 1934, succeeding Robert B. Howell and preceding Richard C. Hunter.
Biography[]
William Henry Thompson was born in Perrysville, Ohio, and he became a lawyer in Arlington, Iowa in 1877 and moved to Grand Island, Nebraska in 1881. He served as Mayor from 1895 to 1898, served as a delegate to the 1896, 1900, 1920, and 1924 Democratic National Committee, served on the state supreme court from 1924 to 1931, and served as an acting US Senator from 1933 to 1934. He died in 1937.
