William H. Wadsworth

William Henry Wadsworth (4 July 1821-2 April 1893) was a member of the US House of Representatives (U-KY 9) from 4 March 1861 to 3 March 1865 (succeeding Laban T. Moore and preceding Samuel McKee) and from 4 March 1885 to 3 March 1887 (succeeding William Wirt Culberson and preceding George M. Thomas).

Biography[]

William Henry Wadsworth was born in Maysville, Kentucky in 1821, and he became a lawyer in 1844 and served in the State Senate from 1853 to 1856 and was a Constitutional Union Party presidential elector in 1860. He went on to serve as a Unionist member of the US House of Representatives from 1861 to 1865, served as ambassador to Mexico, and returned to the US Congress as a Republican from 1885 to 1887. He died in 1893.
