
William Dale Owen (6 September 1846-disappeared 1905) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-IN 10) from 4 March 1885 to 3 March 1891, succeeding Thomas Jefferson Wood and preceding David H. Patton. Born in Bloomington, Indiana, he served as a Christian minister before practicing law in Oxford and Logansport. He served in Congress from 1885 to 1891, as superintendent of the United States Office of Immigration from 1891 to 1893, and as Secretary of State of Indiana from 1895 to 1899. In 1905, he fled the country after being indicted for fraud and theft for his promotion of his Mexican plantations.
