
William Cullen (4 March 1826-17 January 1914) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-IL 7) from 4 March 1881 to 3 March 1883 (succeeding Philip C. Hayes and preceding Thomas J. Henderson) and from IL-8 from 4 March 1883 to 3 March 1885 (succeeding Lewis E. Payson and preceding Ralph Plumb).
Biography[]
William Cullen was born in County Donegal, Ireland in 1826, and he emigrated to Pittsburgh in 1832 before relocating to Adams Township, LaSalle County, Illinois in 1846. He served as county sheriff from 1864 to 1865, as a newspaper editor in Ottawa, and in the US House of Representatives from 1881 to 1885, and he died in 1914.
