
William Cahoon (12 January 1774-30 May 1833) was a member of the US House of Representatives (AM-VT 4) from 4 March 1829 to 3 March 1833, succeeding Daniel Azro Ashley Buck and preceding Benjamin F. Deming. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he milled and farmed in Lyndon, Vermont before serving in the state house from 1802 to 1810, as town clerk from 1808 to 1829, as a major-general in the militia during the War of 1812, on the Governor's Council from 1815 to 1820, as Lieutenant Governor of Vermont from 1820 to 1821, and in Congress from 1829 to 1833.
