
William Biddle Shepard (14 May 1799-20 June 1852) was a member of the US House of Representatives (W-NC 1) from 4 March 1829 to 3 March 1837, succeeding Lemuel Sawyer and preceding Samuel T. Sawyer. Born in New Bern, he practiced law in Elizabeth City before serving in Congress and in the state senate from 1838 to 1840 and from 1848 to 1850.
