Wilfried Bose

Wilfried Bose (1949-4 July 1976) was a leader of the Revolutionary Cells group of West Germany who was one of the masterminds of the 1976 Air France Flight 139 hijacking and was killed in its rescue in Operation Entebbe.

Biography

Wilfried Bose was born in West Germany and carried out guerrilla warfare against the United States and NATO occupiers, and became the leader of the Revolutionary Cells (RZ) revolutionary organization. In 1976, his most audacious attack was the hijacking of Air France Flight 139 alongside the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorists. 

On 4 July, when the Israel Defense Forces stormed the Entebbe Airport in Uganda where the plane was being held, Bose was killed in the shootout with the IDF commandos.
