Wilbur Fix in 1872.

Wilbur Fix (1804-1879) was a British detective from Scotland Yard in the late 19th Century.

Biography[]

Fix was born in Camden Town, London in 1804. He joined Scotland Yard at the age of 19 after working in a factory for 5 years.

In 1872, The Bank of England was robbed and Fix suspected of British aristocrat Phileas Fogg. Convinced that Fog was the one responsible for robbing the Bank of England, he trailed the travellers around the world looking for the proof he needed to arrest Fog, constantly trying to delayed their travels to keep them on British soil so that he might arrest them.

When Fogg arrived Liverpool, Fix arrested him and his French vallet Jean Passepartout. Fix released them from prision after recieving a message from Scotland Yard that the real thief was caught. In London Fogg discovered that he hadn't lost the bet and he managed to arrive just in time for winning it.

Fix received a part of the money and he retired. He was replaced by the new and young detective Sherlock Holmes. Fix died in 1879.
