Wicing York

Wicing York (1599-) was an English Royalist cavalier who served in Prince Rupert of the Rhine's regiment of horse during the First English Civil War. In September 1642, he and the rest of Prince Rupert's command rode from Shropshire to Worcestershire to reinforce Worcester ahead of a Parliamentarian attack on the city, and he fought in the ensuing Battle of Powick Bridge, which was the first significant Royalist victory of the war.
