Westel Willoughby Jr. (20 November 1769-3 October 1844) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-NY 17) from 4 March 1815 to 3 March 1817, succeeding William Stephens Smith and preceding Thomas H. Hubbard.
Biography[]
Westel Willoughby Jr. was born in Goshen, Connecticut in 1769, and he became a lawyer in Newport, New York before co-founding the College of Physicians and Surgeons. He served as a judge on the Herkimer County Court of Common Pleas from 1805 to 1821, as President of the Herkimer County Medical Society from 1806 to 1816 and from 1818 to 1836, in the State Assembly from 1808 to 1839, and in the US House of Representatives from 1815 to 1817, and he died in 1844.
