Flag of West Yorkshire

West Yorkshire is a county in northern England. It consists of the metropolitan boroughs of Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, and Wakefield, and Leeds is the de facto county town of the region. The region's vast coal, wood, and iron ore resources made it a center of the Industrial Revolution, leading to a population and industry boom. In 2016, West Yorkshire had a population of 2,299,700 people.
