West Point, formally known as the United States Military Academy, is the main military academy of the United States, established on 16 March 1802 by Thomas Jefferson. The academy trains officers in the US Military, with most graduates being commissioned as Second Lieutenants upon graduation. The academy's ranks included two presidents of the USA, presidents of Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and the Philippines, 75 Medal of Honor recipients, and several great generals. It is located at the eponymous town of West Point in the Hudson Valley of New York.
