West Java is a province of Indonesia located on the western part of the island of Java, containing the major city of Bandung and some of the suburbs of the Indonesian capital of Jakarta. 46,300,000 people live in West Java, the most densely-populated and most populous province of Indonesia. West Java was the home of the Sundanese people, the largest ethnic group in the province, while Javanese are the second-largest; Minangkabau, Batak, Malays, Madurese, Balinese, Ambonese, and other ethnic groups live in West Java.
