Wendy Rogers (24 July 1954-) was a Republican member of the Arizona Senate from the 6th district from 11 January 2021, succeeding Sylvia Allen.
Biography[]
Wendy Rogers was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky in 1954, and she served in the US Air Force from 1976 to 1996, retiring with the rank of lieutenant-colonel; she was one of the first 100 female pilots in the Air Force. She mounted several unsuccessful bids for public office during the 2010s, but she was ultimately elected to the State Senate in 2020 as a Republican. She became an infamous far-right politician who challenged Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 presidential election, called on Republicans to buy more ammunition as Arizona's slate of electors cast their votes for the Democratic Party, claimed that the 2021 United States coup d'etat attempt was carried out by Antifa, supported the legalization of Bitcoin as legal tender, claimed that Payton S. Gendron's white supremacist terrorist attack in Buffalo, New York in 2022 was a "false flag" operation carried out by federal agents, was a "charter member" of the Oath Keepers, and called Robert E. Lee a "great patriot and a great leader".
