Weehawken

Weehawken is a township in Hudson County, New Jersey, located to the north of Hoboken and to the south of West New York. Weehawken means "land of corn" in Lenape, and the United Provinces established a plantation there in 1647; in 1859, it became an incorporated township of the United States. It is also notable for being the location where Aaron Burr killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel in 1804. In 2010, Weehawken had a population of 12,554 people, with 71.85% being white, 10.76% other, 8.16% Asian, 4.83% African-American, 3.91% multiracial, .49% Native American, and .01% Native American; 40.27% of the population (from any race) were Hispanic.
