
The Washington Wizards are an American professional basketball team based in Washington DC, founded in 1961 as the Chicago Packers. In 1962, they were renamed to the Chicago Zephyrs, and they became the Baltimore Bullets in 1963, the Capital Bullets in 1973, the Washington Bullets in 1974, and the Washington Wizards in 1997. The team appeared in four NBA Finals, winning in 1978. They had 28 playoff appearances, won four conference titles, and seven division titles.
