Warren Garst (4 December 1850-5 October 1924) was the Republican Governor of Iowa from 24 November 1908 to 14 January 1909, succeeding Albert B. Cummins and preceding Beryl F. Carroll.
Biography[]
Warren Garst was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1850, and he was raised in Champaign, Illinois before moving to Coon Rapids, Iowa to open a general store. He served in the state senate before serving as Lieutenant Governor from 1907 to 1908 and as Governor from 1908 to 1909 on Albert B. Cummins' election to the US Senate. He lost the 1910 primary, and he died in 1924.
