Walter Chase was an American businessman from New York City, New York. He worked as an investment banker during the prosperity of the Roaring Twenties, employing bond salesmen such as Nick Carraway; in 1922, he lost lots of his money at Jay Gatsby's roulette table during a large party in West Egg, Long Island.
