Walter Chales de Beaulieu (14 June 1898 – 26 July 1974) was a Generalleutnant der Artillerie of the German Wehrmacht during World War II.
Biography[]
Walter Chales de Beaulieu was born on 14 June 1898 in Saalfeld, East Prussia, German Empire. He became a battalion adjutant during World War I, and he remained in the Reichswehr after the war. Chales de Beaulieu held several panzer regiment commands during World War II, and he served on the Eastern Front as a divisional commander. On 31 January 1945, Adolf Hitler forced him into the reserves because of a lack of trust, as Chales de Beaulieu had served as the chief-of-staff of Colonel-General Erich Hoepner, a key leader of the German Resistance. Chales de Beaulieu died in Kressbonn, West Germany in 1974 at the age of 76.
