John Wallace "Wally" Fowler (15 February 1917-3 June 1994) was an American country and gospel singer. Born in Adairsville, Georgia, he became a musician in Lubbock, Texas before moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 1940, and he and his Oak Ridge Quartet appeared on the Grand Ole Opry, and, starting in 1948, he began all-night gospel sings for two decades. In 1968, despite having previously shared a platform with American Independent Party candidate George Wallace, he was convinced to campaign for Republican presidential candidate Richard Nixon.
