The WZ-551 is a Chinese armored personnel carrier that entered service in 1995. It has a crew of three men and is fully amphibious, being driven in the water by shrouded propellers. Roughly 900 WZ-551s served in the People's Liberation Army, and they were used by light mechanized infantry units. WZ-551s were exported to countries such as Algeria, Bosnia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, and Senegal.
