W. Freeland Kendrick (1873-30 March 1953) was Mayor of Philadelphia (R) from 1924 to 1928, succeeding J. Hampton Moore and preceding Harry Arista Mackey.
Biography[]
W. Freeland Kendrick was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1873. He served as a Pennsylvania delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1920 and as Mayor from 1924 to 1928, and he also served as the second chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Shriners from 1934 to 1949 and on the board of trustees for the Philadelphia Shriners Hospital from 1949 until his death.
