Vladimir Ivanovich Dolgikh (5 December 1924-8 October 2020) was a Russian politician who served as Head of the Metallurgical Department of the Central Committee Secretariat of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1976 to 1984, as a member of the Soviet Politburo from 1982 to 1988, and as a United Russia Senator from Moscow from 2013 to 2018.
Biography[]
Vladimir Ivanovich Dolgikh was born in Ilansky, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union in 1924, and he worked as an engineer before becoming First Secretary of the Krasnoyarsk Krai Committee of the CPSU in 1969 and becoming a member of the CPSU Central Committee in 1971. He was appointed to the Politburo in 1982, but he retired in 1988. In 2011, he became a United Russia deputy in the State Duma, and he served as a Senator from 2013 to 2018. Dolgikh died in 2020 at the age of 95.
