Virgil D. Parris

Virgil Delphini Parris (18 February 1807-13 June 1874) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-ME 5) from 29 May 1838 to 3 March 1841, succeeding Timothy J. Carter and preceding Nathaniel Littlefield. Born in Buckfield, he practiced law before serving in the state senate in 1831, in the state house from 1832 to 1837, in Congress, in the state senate from 1842 to 1843, as a US Marshal from 1844 to 1848, and as a delegate to the 1852 and 1872 Democratic National Conventions.
